The Disturbance Standard for Temporary Seasonal Docks and other Mooring Structures for Personal Recreation Purposes was implemented in April 2021.

If in alignment with the disturbance standard, no additional authorizations or dispositions are required. Those docks and associated shoreline modifications that fall outside of the disturbance standard may require a DLO as previously communicated by the Department on January 22, 2021.

Alberta Environment and Parks understands obtaining a DLO has additional costs and regulatory requirements compared to those docks which are temporary and removed seasonally. Therefore you can obtain obtain a DLO extension until March 31, 2023 by email at RockyLU.Clearwater@gov.ab.ca.
